The 3rd annual meeting of the category 2 centres active in the field of intangible cultural heritage will be held from 6 to 8 July in Guiyang, China. Hosted by the Chinese centre, the International Training Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region (CRIHAP), the meeting will follow up on the two previous annual meetings.
Most of the centres having gained a solid base of experience, both administrative and programmatic, the third annual meeting of the centres will emphasize peer-to-peer exchanges. After a brief update from UNESCO of recent developments in the life of the Convention, including the status of the 38 C/5 for the 2016-2017 biennium, the remaining sessions will be coordinated by the respective centres on different subjects, such as information and networking, collaboration with UNESCO in the global capacity-building programme, approaches to governance and programme planning, evaluation and renewal of the status of category 2 centre.
