Kristiina Porila (MA) has been involved in implementing the Convention since 2008. Based in Estonia, she works at the UNESCO Chair on Applied Studies of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the University of Tartu.

She has previously worked on projects such as capacity building programmes, awareness raising activities and the national inventory in Estonia. She has also supported communities in the process of preparing nominations for the Convention’s lists. She has also been a member of two international bodies set up for evaluating nomination files for the international lists under the 2003 Convention (2014 and 2009-2010).
