Patricio Lopez has experience in the implementation of the 2003 Convention at national and international levels, including the design and evaluation of programmes and methodologies for inventorying, and participatory engagement with communities, including Indigenous Peoples. He has worked on the preparation of legislative frameworks focused on the safeguarding of the living heritage of Indigenous Peoples and migrant communities. His research explores the relationship between ICH, material heritage, and social movements in urban and translocal communities in different continents. Internationally, he has led regional projects across Latin America, strengthening cultural heritage safeguarding, policy frameworks and economic valuation of ICH.
