The Resource kit for primary a secondary school teachers from Ukraine ‘Teaching and Learning with Living Heritage in Ukraine’ is inspired by the UNESCO-EU ‘resource kit’ developed in 2021 in European Union countries. It includes a step-by-step guidance on how to integrate living heritage in core school subjects, 10 case studies from EU countries and 11 case studies from Ukraine demonstrating how teachers implemented their innovative pilot projects across different contexts and conditions. It also includes a short film showcasing the experience of a secondary school in Odesa with integrating traditional clay toys in history, mathematics, geography, chemistry, biology, physics and 3D modeling classes. A short 1 min version of the film for social media is also available.
These resources were developed in the context of the project ‘Supporting the resilience of Ukrainian school children through enhancing awareness of their living heritage’ implemented by UNESCO in close cooperation with the ‘Development Centre Democracy through Culture’, a non-governmental organization accredited under the 2003 Convention. It was supported by a wide range of partners including the UNESCO Chair in Science Education, the UNESCO Associated Schools Network in Ukraine, and others. The project was supported by the UNESCO Heritage Emergency Fund.
