Sampad - Celebrating Heritage of Two Bengals
Sampad - Celebrating Heritage of Two Bengals is a collaborative event between Rural Craft and Cultural Hubs of MSME&T Department, Government of West Bengal and UNESCO New Delhi in India and Bangladesh National Museum, Govt. of Bangladesh.
The collaboration will be facilitated by the two NGOs, Contact Base from India and Sadhana from Bangladesh. The tradition bearers and artists of India and Bangladesh will jointly showcase and celebrate the common shared heritage of the two Bengals. The traditional crafts include Kantha, Patachitra, Dokra, Madur, Sitalpati, Shola, and the
traditional folk forms include Chau dance, Kali Kach dance and performance on Manasa folklore. The participating artists will be demonstrating their craft processes, and products, carry out traditional performances, engage in exchange workshops and also disseminate about their traditions to students and general audience at large. Both
exhibition and performances will enrich the audiences through four-day long event, along with colloquiums on shared traditions of Patachitra, Kantha, and Shola crafts.
