Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference in Türkiye
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, Directorate General of Living Heritage and Cultural Activities organised “Intangible Cultural Heritage Conference” in Ankara Art and Sculpture Museum on September 26, 2024 as part of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival. Türkiye’s leading academics in the field of intangible cultural heritage attended to the Conference. Participants made speech on the following topics.
- 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, Türkiye Experience
- Heritage Bearers and NGOs in the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage
- Culture Economy and Creative Industries in the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage
- The Relationship Between Intangible Cultural Heritage and Sustainability
The safeguarding of cultural heritage is a responsibility not only for today but also for the future. Developing policies in line with the principles of environmental and social sustainability will ensure that this heritage is transmitted to next generations. In this perspective, ICH Conference provides a good opportunity to share Türkiye’s achievements and experiences in the field of intangible cultural heritage, to develop new approaches and strengthen national and international cooperation in this field.
