Mai Odeh is a specialist in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage with over 15 years of experience working with national institutions and international organizations. She holds a Master’s degree in Culture and Tourism and currently serves as External Relations and Fundraising Expert at the Department of Refugee Affairs of the PLO. As a member of the global facilitators network under the 2003 Convention, she has led capacity-building, periodic reporting, strategic planning, and technical advisory processes in collaboration with UN agencies and national institutions, as well as policy and legislative support initiatives. Her work integrates cultural heritage safeguarding within contexts of conflict and displacement, supporting refugee communities and promoting community-based approaches aligned with sustainable development, results-based management, and UN frameworks.
