Professor and former Dean of the Higher Institute of Folk Arts. A certified facilitator since 2011 (Abu Dhabi), he specializes in safeguarding and archiving Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). He serves as the ICH Consultant at Bibliotheca Alexandrina and is a member of several committees, including the ICH Committee at the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. His 6-volume “Thesaurus of ICH in the Arab World” won the ALECSO Arab Heritage Award. Author of 22 books and over 60 studies in the ICH field, he currently teaches academic courses on the 2003 Convention and participates in documentation projects and workshops across the Arab world.
