David Brown joined the Global Network of Facilitators for the 2003 UNESCO Convention in 2013. A trained Historian and a culture specialist with over 2 decades of fieldwork on Caribbean cultural elements, he has led consultancies across the Anglophone and Dutch Caribbean, designing archival frameworks to document viable and endangered cultural practices while developing local capacities to identify and safeguard cultural elements
He co-authored dossiers for three inscriptions to the Representative List: Maroon Heritage of Moore Town (2008), Reggae Music of Jamaica (2018), and Pilgrimage to Watt Town (2024). His work earned him Jamaica’s Badge of Honour for Meritorious Service in 2024.
