'Youth and Women in Safeguarding Traditional Sailing in the Adriatic' online seminar
Organized by the Ecomuseum and Association House of batana – Casa della batana, this online event highlights initiatives that promote the active participation of young people – especially girls – in safeguarding and transmitting traditional sailing practices across the Adriatic.
The session brings together leading experts and practitioners in maritime heritage. Tamara Nikolić Đerić will present the Mentorship Programme and introduce Youth Ambassador for al terzo sailing Eni Ladavac, while Tea Perinčić, President of the Association of Mediterranean Maritime Museums (AMMM), will outline the Association’s new four-year goals on Women in Maritime Heritage. Kate Šikić Čubrić from the Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding will showcase museum projects aimed at empowering youth and encouraging girls’ engagement in traditional sailing, and Katica Cvelić and Nataša Badurina, members of the Women’s Crew of Malinska–Dubašnica, will share first-hand experiences from regattas and discuss ways to enhance women’s participation in traditional boat races.
The event offers an inspiring platform for exchange, collaboration, and new ideas on how youth and women can shape the future of living maritime heritage in the Adriatic.
