Workshop ‘Tuskegee, Alabama: The Unsung Epicenter of Black Excellence’

Blanchard House Institute (“BHI”) will host a private workshop in Tuskegee, Alabama in commemoration of UNESCO’s 20th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This event will convene local elected officials and leaders to learn about BHI’s work to develop two national economic and cultural trails to revitalize 250+ underinvested and rural communities impacted by Urban Renewal and historic neglect in honor of the nation’s semiquincentennial in 2026. Nestled in the heart of the U.S. South, Tuskegee, Alabama, is a historical gem that shines brightly in the untold story of Black America’s resilience, hope, and excellence across various industries, particularly in science, medicine, architecture, innovation, agriculture, and sustainability.
