“Workshop on historical reed instruments. Production of double reeds, coaching and arrangements for music groups of the historical documentary play "Landshuter Hochzeit 1475"
The historical documentary “Landshuter Hochzeit 1475” is one of the largest historical festivals in Europe with many events: a historical pageant through the gothic city center of Landshut, knight tournaments, historical dance, theater and concerts, performed by 2,500 participants. In all events, authenticity and historical accuracy is the most important element. 47 music groups with more than 500 musicians present medieval music in various forms. In November 2024, a workshop with Bernhard Stilz, an internationally recognized expert on medieval music, will take place for all musicians who play reed instruments. Next year, further workshops on medieval music will take place in order to further develop the intangible cultural heritage “Landshuter Hochzeit 1475” for young musicians.
The event is part of the cluster “Series of activities to celebrate the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage 2024 in Germany”.
