Travelling exhibition about endangered languages
The Seto language exhibition focuses on five endangered languages from Europe and their respective communities – thus on languages as a vehicle of the intangible cultural heritage. It is about Seto, Cornish, Aranese, Aromanian and Burgenland Croatian.
The exhibition is part of the international EU-funded research project RISE UP that is about revitalizing endangered languages and safeguarding cultural diversity.
The exhibition is displayed in all five communities, one after the other. It also features an artwork by one artist from each community. Setomaa is represented by Yyhely Hälvin.
The exhibition opening in Estonia on 6 October 2025 was held as part of the annual Seto Week and served as a prelude to the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (17 October). Translation available in English and Estonian.
