The Nationai Folk Performing Arts Festival 2023
Folk performing arts are a valuable cultural heritage that conveys the history of the people of Japan to the present day, created and handed down by the people themselves from the lives and production activities of the people in local communities. Since the completion of the hall, the Foundation has made performances of folk performing arts a regular business to this day, and this is nothing other than promoting the preservation and succession of these folk performing arts. Furyu Odori, one of Japan’s folk performing arts, was registered as UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage last year, and as interest in folk performing arts continues to grow, this festival will mark its 70th anniversary. This year as well, in addition to making it widely available to the general public, we will also hold intensive performances, including night performances, to deeply appreciate the performing arts.
