Shuar Cultural Festival: Voices of the Amazon
As part of a series of events organized in October 2025 by the Instituto Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural (INPC) to mark the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the ‘Shuar Cultural Festival: Voices of the Amazon’ is organized on 16 and 17 October 2025.
The Shuar are among the Indigenous Peoples and nationalities of the Ecuadorian Amazon, bearers of a vast intangible cultural heritage that, despite its significance, remains relatively little known. It is therefore important to promote and disseminate Shuar culture, not only in their territory but also across the wider region. In an effort to contribute to a more balanced approach, the INPC is broadening its research and heritage management activities by highlighting the living heritage of the Shuar people through this exhibition.
