
Seminar on capacity building for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage based on the recommendations and conventions of UNESCO
The seminar will be held on November 8, 2024, starting at 12 noon, at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Mostar, located in the street Matice Hrvatske b.b. (University campus)
The Seminar will present the results of the implementation of the UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as at the international level. In particular, unused opportunities in BiH, provided by this Convention, will be processed through additional improvement of the networking of heirs, experts, scientists, associations, authorities and institutions dealing with the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage.
The aim of the Seminar is to clarify additional possibilities for improving the activities and networking of participants in the safeguarding, transmission and increase of visibility of elements of intangible cultural heritage in BiH with practical examples in the area of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. The improvement of networking increases the efficiency in the recognition, mapping, promotion and safeguarding of living intangible cultural heritage while at the same time raising awareness of the possibilities provided by the management of intangible cultural assets in accordance with the 2003 UNESCO Convention and its OD.
