On the occasion of the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage 2026 the cultural association Pastellesse Sound Group “I bottari di Macerata Campania” in partnership (i.e. scientific support) with the UNESCO-accredited NGO “Associazione Sant’Antuono & le Battuglie di Pastellessa” – both based in Macerata Campania (Italy) – organizing a concert to celebrate the Pastellesse Sound Group’s twentieth year, dedicated to the saferguard and promotion of the ancient Music of Sant’Antuono, i.e. the typical rhythm of the “bottari” (lit. “barrel beaters”) performed by beating farming instruments, such as barrels, vats and scythes, that is an identifying element of the Community of Macerata Campania (Italy).

The purpose of the activity is to educate and raise awareness among new generations of the ICH values and the importance of the safeguarding according to the 2003 Convention principles, and to promote, celebrate, and encourage activities related to Intangible Cultural Heritage, while promoting the contribution of living heritage to sustainable development, in a song and dance celebration that represent the uppermost cultural masterpiece that has stood the test of time.

The live exhibition will take place on 10 October 2026 (starting at 8:30 PM local time) at the “Città di Pace” Theater in Caserta (Italy) and will be free of charge, thereby encouraging participation and ensuring equal access for all. It will also be broadcast on social media channels.
