International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Armenia
For the second consecutive year, Armenia is celebrating the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, highlighting the vital role of intangible cultural heritage in the spiritual, cultural, and creative life of society.
Each year, the scope of the celebrations continues to expand, bringing together state and public institutions, creative groups, and individual bearers working in the field of intangible cultural heritage. Through these collective efforts, the importance of safeguarding, transmitting, and promoting intangible cultural heritage is further emphasized, while public awareness of its preservation and dissemination is significantly enhanced.
This year, the initiative has brought together around 360 organizations from 230 communities across Armenia’s 10 regions, including state educational and cultural institutions, non-governmental organizations, and individual practitioners. In line with the spirit of the day, a wide range of cultural events will be held in communities: exhibitions, performances, master classes, dance and song festivals, all aimed at celebrating the intangible cultural heritage elements inscribed in the national and UNESCO lists.
To further promote this festive occasion, it is proposed to carry out a digital campaign and to post the poster on the website and Facebook page of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, thereby marking the Ministry’s participation in the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
