Day of the Dead, Night of the Souls: a Parade and musical homage to those who have left us
On 31 October 2025, Théâtre La Danse du Dragon is organising a community theatre event entitled “Day of the Dead, Night of the Souls”, a parade and musical homage to those who have left us.
Marking the International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the event will feature local performers of multicultural origins and backgrounds performing in a neighbourhood park for the local public, using traditional songs, puppets, and masks — especially traditional altar and skeleton puppets — along with poetry and traditional costumes. The event will include a parade, followed by a theatrical presentation in a circle. We will be commemorating their visit in accordance with the Mexican tradition.
Through this participatory event, Théâtre La Danse du Dragon aims to celebrate the intergenerational transmission of cultural practices, foster intercultural dialogue, and bring communities together through shared acts of commemoration.
