Joanne Orr has research interests in both the tangible and intangible aspects of heritage and culture, and experience in ICH and museums. She is a published Routledge author of: Practitioner Perspectives on ICH. Formerly the CEO of the first accredited NGO in the UK she has experience of developing public policy for culture. She has developed innovative approaches to inventorying and an inclusive definition of ICH. Recently working with the UK government on implementation, the development of national inventories and community consent. She served on the United Kingdom National Commission or UNESCO and the ICH NGO Forum.
