Sangmee Bak is a professor of anthropology at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. She was previously a member of the Evaluation Body (2017-2021) and served as its Chair (2019). She was the first woman/expert to serve as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to UNESCO (2022-2025). Her major areas of expertise include: ICH and identity, food heritage, heritage and gender.
