NG Xin Yi is trained as an anthropologist with more than 15 years of experience working with local communities. She serves as a Senior Cultural Heritage Officer in the site management office for the Historic City of George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, Malaysia. Her tasks include providing inputs for ICH-related programs and policies for daily site management.
Together with her team, Xin Yi researched and authored the survey report for ICHCAP on the Efforts in safeguarding ICH in Malaysia in 2016, and implemented a community-based ICH inventorying in George Town, a pilot project of UNESCO in 2018-2019.
