Celebration of the first World Day for Intangible Cultural Heritage in Egypt
The celebration of World Intangible Cultural Heritage Day took place at the Egyptian Public Library in Al-Quseir, a historic city in the Red Sea Governorate of Egypt. The event commenced at 8 p.m. with an opening address by Major General Ihab Rashad, Mayor of AL-Quseir. This was followed by a vibrant folkloric music and singing performance, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the local community. Dr. Hassan Refaat, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Luxor University then delivered an insightful presentation on the concept of intangible cultural heritage, emphasizing its significance in cultural preservation and its potential to enhance sustainable tourism.
