My doctorate was published as ‘The Politics of Heritage Management in Mali: from UNESCO to Djenné’
I was a Senior Lecturer in Social Anthropology at Goldsmiths. I set up an MA in Anthropology and Museum Practice with the Horniman Museum where I also worked as Deputy Keeper of Anthropology.
I published ‘Heritage Justice’ based on research at the International Criminal Court and in Senegal. I was an advisor for the Trust Fund for Victims in the first Timbuktu trial (Al Mahdi).
I was appointed an NED for Culture to the UK UNESCO National Commission and I chair UK Blue Shield’s ICH Committee.
