  • Tuesday 14, 1.40 – 2.10pm, UNESCO MOOC on Living Heritage and Sustainable Development

This event will mark the launch of the pre-enrolment campaign for the first UNESCO Massive Open Online Course on Living Heritage and Sustainable Development conceived together with ICHCAP, SDG Academy and the UNESCO Chair for Research on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Cultural Diversity. The trailer of the course will be revealed to the public. The course will begin on 24th January 2022 and more information is available on SDG Academy’s website. Register here.

  • Wednesday 15, 1.40 – 2.10pm: Launch of the Toolkit for requesting International Assistance

This event will present a new user-friendly toolkit designed by UNESCO. It notably explains how to plan and monitor projects on the ground, but also introduces the readers to key concepts of the 2003 Convention while developing the eligibility and selection criteria of the ICH Fund. As a result, the International Assistance mechanism is more accessible than ever to States Parties to safeguard their living heritage. Register here.

  • Wednesday 15, 5.30 – 7.30pm: Platform of ICH for sustainable development in the Andean Region

This event marks the launching of the multimedia platform “Intangible Cultural Heritage for Sustainable Development in the Andean Region” and the presentation of the results of the study “Intangible Cultural Heritage and COVID-19 in the Andean countries” led by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Quito. While nourishing the content of the platform, the study showcases in detail the dimensions and types of impacts of the pandemic on specific ICH elements in Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador.
