Matti Hakamäki, director of Finnish Folk Music Institute, has worked as a musician, teacher, and a pedagogue of folk music from 2009 and his field of specialty in consultant work lies in community approach and participatory processes, nominations, non-formal music education and sustainable development. Hakamäki has been the chairperson of the Nordic and Baltic ICH Network since 2019, member of the Executive Board of ICH NGO Forum since 2022 and has initiated and implemented numerous awareness raising and capacity building projects in the field of ICH in Finland and internationally.
