Nominations for possible inscription in 2014 must be submitted before March 31, 2013. As this date falls on Sunday and April 1 is a public holiday at UNESCO Headquarters, Intangible Cultural Heritage Section will accept the files before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the latest. All nominations must be submitted using the forms for the 2014 cycle as made available online. All the required documentation needs to be received before the deadline. Please note that the Intangible Cultural Heritage Section will move from Bonvin building into new offices at Fontenoy in mid-March, and its Secretariat office will be in the Room 3.75.
In conformity with Paragraph 34 of the Operational Directives, in the case where a country submits several files, it must indicate the order of priority in which these files must be examined. Please note that, as in previous cycles, around 60 files will be treated. The States Parties are therefore invited to keep this in mind when submitting files for the 2014 cycle. The Committee will try to process at least one file by submitting State.
The files that could not be examined during the 2013 or previous cycles are pending in the Secretariat. States may choose to propose one or more of these files for examination in 2014, in which case they need to use the nominations forms in their 2014 edition, as shown above, and integrate its file(s) in the order of precedence.
