This workshop is an activity associated to strengthening sub-regional cooperation and national capacities in seven Southern African countries for implementing the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Fourteen participants attended the training, of which eight were women. It was partially conducted by the Botha-Bothe and Menkhoaneng community members who were trained in a previous capacity building activity.
This activity is part a second phase of the ICH project financed by the Government of Flanders and implemented by the UNESCO Field Office in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Intangible Cultural Heritage Section at the UNESCO Headquarter provided technical support through out the process of the activity.
