“Origen” + “Danza en el Museo” – flamenco workshops and exhibitions

The activity takes place in the context of the new temporary exhibition “Origen” (Origin), which presents a flamenco dress designed by Beatriz Peñalver as a result of a project in which more than 300 testimonies were recovered from people related to the flamenco world.

To complement this exhibition, two flamenco workshops and shows organized by ELAMOR
Dance Company were offered by professional dancers such as Úrsula López or Laila Tafur.

In the first workshop, Úrsula López shows the skills necessary to dace with a “bata de cola” ( a flamenco dress with a large train), making a tribute to the great dancer Carmen Amaya.

The second workshop was about the concept of “folklore” together with Professor Rafael
Paniagua, in which the movements, the repetitions and the aesthetics were treated from the
contemporary flamenco perspective.
