Mr Laurier Turgeon

Laurier Turgeon is professor of ethnology (folklore) and history, director of the Heritage Studies Program, and director of the Institute for Cultural Heritage at Laval University, Quebec City, Canada. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Canadian Museum of History and is currently President of the Folklore Studies Association of Canada. He is an active member of the ICH NGO Forum of the 2003 UNESCO Convention, was elected representative of North America and Western Europe on the Executive Board in 2020, and has acted as Secretary in 2020-21 and Chair in 2021-22 of the Executive Board. He participated actively, with the other members of the Executive Board, in the project dedicated to Mapping the Expertise of accredited NGOs under the 2003 Convention.
