Needs assessment for the implementation of the 2003 Convention in Liberia
A needs-assessment activity on the institutional and professional environments favorable for the sustainable safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in Liberia was carried out in November 2016.
This activity was intended, to conduct a national consultation workshop, to analyze the legislative framework, to identify the institutions working in the field of intangible cultural heritage in the country, and the financial mechanisms for supporting the safeguarding of ICH practices.
The findings were used as a basis for the formulation of multi-year project proposal to provide practical steps aiming at improving to safeguarding of the living heritage in the country.
