Decision of the Intergovernmental Committee: 20.COM 9.B.1

The Committee,

  1. Having examined document LHE/25/20.COM/9,
  2. Recalling Decision COM 11.1 and Chapter I.12 of the Operational Directives,
  3. Takes note that Algeria has requested the modification of name of ‘Rites and craftsmanship associated with the wedding costume tradition of Tlemcen’, element inscribed in 2012 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity;
  4. Approves the modification proposed by Algeria and decides to add the mention ‘(the Wearing of Caftan)’ in section B.3 of Form ICH-02 as described in document LHE/25/20.COM/9;
  5. Requests that the Secretariat incorporate this modification into all its communications with respect to the element concerned.
